Tour 2hours Details
Passing by the same stops of the interior walks and continuing to a fifth stop where you are located on the beach of Nest of Andorinhas, which until recently, this beach was the secret paradise of tourists who were lucky enough to discover it.
Currently, it is already possible to locate it on Google Maps.
Access is via a trail on top of a cliff. Although the route is not difficult, it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or small children.
For this reason, the beach is mainly frequented by young people, many of them couples. At low tide, many arrive by kayak.
Perfect satiry to relax and spend a few hours with the family.
And finally, making the last stop to Praia da Galé, Praia da Galé forms the eastern end of the wide sandy bay of Armação de Pêra.
On this beach, the rocky formations characteristic of the western Algarve once again emerge from the sand, providing nooks and crannies for bathers, especially in the east section, with the west sector being more exposed.
These carbonated rocks with hot cores and very rich in marine fossils, also called shell beds, testify to a past time when the sea level was further inland.
Currently, they are heavily sculpted by rainwater and polished by the sea, covered with plants adapted to salsugem such as ash.
In the areas where sand accumulates, mainly in the western sector, typical plants of the dunes can still be seen, especially the seabird, the sand marigold and the aromatic perpetual sand dune, in the continuity of the dune system of Salgados and from Praia Grande.
To the east, the rock formations dominate and an area of stone pine appears to crown the orange cliff.
Tour 3hours Details
Passing through the same places as the previous tours but with a more interesting ending than the other stops.
This tour then continues to the seventh stop, where we will go to the other end of Albufeira which is then at Olhos de Água beach. today they occupy the beach with their small-scale fishing boats.
The famous freshwater springs that sprout from the sand, locally known as water holes or scouts, named the town and the beach.
The waterholes are visible next to the sea, at low tide, at the extreme east of the beach.
But it is also the limestone cliffs that distinguish Olhos d'Água, since this is the first rocky beach in the passage from the sandy leeward to the rocky windward, and where you can observe marine life in the intertidal range: limpets, whelks, barnacles , small gobies, anemones and colored algae. The rock formations, very jagged, exhibit rock formations, caves, arches, and small sheltered coves.
It is a very popular beach, given its urban and tourist character, with a central square with terraces and a small pedestrian walkway along the sea front, lined with palm trees.
And finally and continuing the last stop and one of the most incredible, Falésia beach, being considered the sixth most beautiful beach in Europe due to its natural colors and more, the beach is immense, inserted in a continuous stretch of sand with almost 6 km long, flanked by a line of high cliffs in strong tones, sometimes reddish, sometimes whitish, creating contrasting games of color with the green patches of stone pine.
In the west section, the cliff is high but very soft, carved in sand and clay, where the rain has no difficulty in creating sinuous relief, with deep ravines. Towards the east, the cliff slowly lowers, remaining intensely sculpted. It is the erosion of this rock that feeds the sand, providing sand to the beach.
It is thus possible to observe the cliffs at the base of these small sand cones, where the typical plants of the dunes will settle: sand daffodil, sea kale, sand clove, Cretan clover and sea thistle .
These colorful species mix with the typical vegetation of the cliffs, of a more monotonous color, here mainly composed of salt pans.
The beach has quiet sections, just walk a little.
Thus ending the tour covering the entire coast of Albufeira!
